Projector and Nottingham Women’s Centre are working in partnership to host a Creative Weekender for women who want to become self-employed within the creative industries, e.g. film-making, writing, the arts…
The course will take place on:
Saturday 12th – Sunday 13th July
at Nottingham Women’s Centre, Chaucer Street
This will be an interactive two day course looking at, amongst other things, start up basics, business models and structures and marketing techniques in a supportive environment.
Women will have the opportunity to explore and refine their ideas and hear from creative cameos, featuring women who are currently running their own businesses in the creative industries.
This free course includes childcare, lunch and refreshments.

On Saturday 1st of March, EN Start-Ups will be holding an exclusive event for business start-ups in the Midlands. Guests will be able to find out about the many secrets to succeeding in the world of business, and will also have the opportunity to access exclusive funding for their business idea. There will also be an opportunity to network with fellow entrepreneurs, and to ask questions to our experts. Our keynote speaker will be internationally recognised entrepreneur Kanya King MBE (CEO and Founder of the MOBO Awards).

In association with the Women Mean Business Programme, Bright Ideas Nottingham will be running a Women Promoting Businesses Online day, which will look at how to use Facebook and Twitter to promote a business online.
The main topics that this course will cover are:
– How to operate a Twitter account and use this to promote your business
– How to create a business page on Facebook and then use this to create groups and events
This women-only day course will run on Monday 17th February from 10am-4pm at the John Folman Business Centre in St Ann’s, with a break for lunch.
Lunch will not be provided so please bring something with you, or there is a shop nearby which sells sandwiches and other refreshments.

Please note: This day course covers promoting businesses on Facebook and Twitter at a basic level. Also, it does not cover creating a website / blog.
